I understand what life is like to be an asthmatic. To feel suffocated, to fear allergic triggers and to restrict my physical exercise. Always being aware that my next asthma attack could come along at any moment possibly requiring a hospital visit. I spent nearly 30 years living out this endless scenario dependent on asthma medications and victim of their side effects. This was my life story before Buteyko.
Happily my life changed when I discovered and learned The Butkeyko Breathing Method. Confidently I can now say that I know what it feels like to breathe freely without asthma medication. I am able to workout in the gym doing intense cardiovascular exercises without the fear of an asthma attack or airway constriction. I am able to sleep through the night without any asthma related interruptions. Also I no longer spend my days frequently thinking about an impending asthma attack. The new me now breathes freely and effortlessly in a calm and quiet manner thanks to The Butkeyko Breathing Method.
I am a Holistic Health Counselor and Buteyko Breathing Educator living in in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A health counselor is a wellness guide and supportive mentor. My curiosity and fascination with "alternative health practices" was sparked by an auto accident in 1993. Studying Chi Gung for self care then led to Asian bodywork and an eventual career change. I have been a licensed massage therapist and certified member of the American Body Therapies of Asia since 1997. I practice an eclectic mix of Asian and Western deep tissue techniques in Las Cruces, New Mexico .

A self help Buteyko Breathing course is available on DVD. The Buteyko DVD is the complete instruction as presented by Buteyko practitioner and author Patrick McKeown. During the two hour DVD, Patrick instructs five adults and two children how to sucessfully apply the Buteyko Breathing Therapy.
